Mental Performance Coaching

Mental Performance Coaching for Elite Youth Athletes and Performers who have lost the fun.

Training sucked again today.

No matter how hard you tried to focus on your skills it didn’t work. Nothing you do is helping change your results. Your coach recommends you relax and take a break to get your mind off it. That helps, but as soon as you get back to it, the pressure is back. You are stiff and your coach asks why you are doing it that way. You are embarrassed. You can’t think or think too much, either way it feels awful! Before competitions you have even started getting stomach aches because it’s just too stressful!

Comparison and worry are all you can think about.

You hear other athletes talking about how everyone is doing and you know you worry too much about what other people think but you have no idea how to stop. You see how others are doing and you can’t help but feel low in comparison. They are so much better and you don’t even know where to start. You have put so much into your sport and gotten a lot of support from family and coaches that you worry about letting everyone down. It’s overwhelming and you cried in the bathroom. Last year you had some top results and this year you expected your skills to continue. But it has been nothing but missed opportunities. It’s seems like every good performance is followed by a bad one. You are not a quitter but you wonder if quitting is an option because this is not working.

It’s possible to have fun and perform well!

Hi, I’m Erin and I help elite youth athletes ages 13-25 to have fun again while still learning and competing at the highest level. With skills and support I see athletes and performers go from stressed out and unsure to calm and focused. The skills that help free your mind also happen to be the skills that increase performance. I call it learning to choose your focus. You are pretty bad ass to have made it this far. And no matter where you want to go from here learning to choose your focus gives you the skills to calm your body, focus your mind and feel the joy that feeds your passion.

Learn how to handle the stress.

I teach things in easy to understand chucks that you can start applying now. During our work together we will practice noticing where your mind is at and where you want it to be during competition and practice skills to close the gap. We practice first together, then you practice in your personal life, then in training so that when it comes to competition you are prepared with many repetitions. That might seem like a long path but it was a long road getting to this point. And truthfully the length of time it takes varies a lot. I share it this was to show you that there is a clear path through and out.

Practice and perform.

With support you can learn to calm and focus your mind, feel competent and prepared and get back to doing what you do. If you are ready to stop the comparison, self judgement and stress, message me today so you can get back to having fun and doing your best.
